Jaimee is Coming!

I've got a mail from one of my best friend Jaimee today!
She decided to come to my hometown for a week!!!
and she've already book a ticket, too!
I'm soooooo happy seeing her and I can't wait!!

I met her in Melbourne,
she was originally my student in Japanese course,
but we're the same age and also, this was hard to believe.
She used to worked in my hometown for 2 years!
It was when I was away from Japan,
It's not happening so often even come across who knows my hometown,
but actually, Jaimee lived there!
This was a huge coinsidense!!!!

Because we met this way,
we felt close each other from really begining.
I can't really tell how happy I am about this!
Jaimee is coming in October!


今日、ジェイミーからメールが届きました！
なーんと、一週間ここに来るって！！！！！
航空券、予約したよーだって！！！！！
もう嬉しくって嬉しくってたまりません〜〜

ジェイミーとは元々メルボルンで出会いました。
私の日本語クラスで日本語を勉強していて、
でも同じ年だったのと、それからこれはめちゃくちゃびっくりしたのですが
彼女は2年間、私の地元に住んでいたという共通点も有り、
あーっという間に仲良くなりました。
私の地元を知っているという外国人に会うのも結構大変なのに、
そこにましてや住んでいたなんて〜！
ものすごい偶然といいましょうか。

出会いからこんな風だったので、
仲良くなるのに時間がかからなかったのかな〜と思ったり。
ジェイミーは10月に来ます〜

Hip Hip Hooray!!

I feel like to say this to my friend.
As I wrote here about her on 15th April.
I met her in Osaka when we had IELTS,
and we had some common topic, so that we exchanged email address,
planning to see each other again and go for a cafe or something
the next time of IELTS.

But I've got a mail from her and she decided to go UK,
to get into language school.
She was before planning to go uni directly,
but according she saying, she decided to start her plan as soon as possible.
She is quitting her work very soon and
the day we were planning to meet again which is also be my IELTS day,
she would be in her English course in UK!

So, I feel like to say Hip Hip Hooray to her,
something cheer her up!
As a same generation girl, I really understand she made a big decision.
Hip Hip Hooray from my heart to her!


Hip Hip Hooray!　友人に届けたいこの言葉。
4月15日の日記で彼女のことは軽く紹介したのですが、
IELTSの受験会場で会った彼女から連絡がきました。
意気投合して、Eメールアドレスを交換して
次回の受験のときにはカフェでも行こうかと話していたのです。

そんな彼女からメールが届きました。
イギリスで語学学校に行くと決めたとか
たしか、元々は大学に直接入学する予定だったと思うのですが
彼女は出来るだけ早く出発する方がいいと判断したようです。
近々仕事も辞めて、元々カフェに行こうと話していたその日には
既に、彼女はイギリスで通学を始めているということになります

なので、Hip Hip Hooray！
彼女とは、同年代なので、色々考えた上で、
思い切って出発に踏み切っただろうことが、手に取るように感じられるのです。
心からのがんばれ〜を彼女に。

I'm in a Cold Sweat..

I got one phone call at my office today..
It was from a city office and asking about interpret
for some important people..
I work as a cordinator, so I sometimes work in a same team with them,
but interpreting's not really my work.
And IMPORTANT THING IS, I CAN'T REALLY SPEAK THE LANGUAGE.
Just because of the language is really not common,
and I had lived there for years,, They think I'm a good speaker.
but really, I worked as a Japanese teacher,
so it was easy for me to find friends who speaks beautiful japanese
and they always helped me out.
I can buy things and ask taxi where to go, talk about wheather and food, but that's it..
Because they have no idea what I'm saying, I imagin when I would asking
"could you speak really slowly and use simple words please..."
People who has no idea about the language would say,"wow you speak so fluent!"

I told them about I can't really speak,,
but they seems so desparate and asked like "just telling where the toilet is"
I really think there are universal toilet sign for sure,,
There are 2 proffesional interpreters, still I'm sure I will have hard time,,
and I had enough of myself said yes just coming.. Im,, sick of it..
On the other hand little happy about having nostarsic food,
listen to the music and dance with them!


今日、職場にかかってきた一本の電話。。
何やら要人の通訳をして欲しいとか・・・
仕事で電話の主である役所の人と一緒になることはあるのですが
この通訳ってのは・・・直接の仕事ではありません。
そして、何よりも重要なのは・・・、
私、その言語ほとんど話せませんから。。
その言語がかなりマイナー言語だと思うのですが
その地域に2年住んでいたというだけで、
「だったら話せるだろう」と思われるようで。
2年と言っても、日本語を教えていたので、
日本語な達者な友だちにそれはそれはよくしてもらったのです。
ものを買ったり、タクシーで行き先行ったり、天気とか食べ物の話はできます
でも、それだけ。
ものすごくカタコトで
「すみません、ゆーーーっくり話してもらえません？かーんたんな言葉で。」
なんて言ってても、分からない人からすると
「うわ〜〜〜　ペラペラ〜〜〜!!!」
と、なるんですけど（汗）、今回は厄介なこと？に本物のネイティブがいるので、
そういう問題ではありません。。

私、ほとんど話せません・・・と正直に打ち明け
それでも必死に頼まれました・・・。
トイレの位置教えるくらいならできるでしょ！と。協力してよ！と。
・・・いやいや、トイレだったら全世界共通のわっかり易いサインがあるけど・・・。
2人はプロの通訳の方がいらっしゃるとのことですが
それでも・・・、、大変そうなのは目に見えています。
そしてこの状況で、「そ・・・それならやります。」と言っちゃう自分もイヤ。。
ほとほと自分にあきれます。。
そのパーティで、懐かしい料理やお酒、音楽にダンスがあるかも？と
そこはちょっと期待してるんですけどね。
